This back to work schedule’s been okay. Last week was 4 days of 6hr days. I was exhausted. So exhausted, I am now getting sick. I’m not looking forward to my 8hr days coming up.

The subject of Reuben sandwiches came up in conversation. Reading the history of “Russian” dressing, and it is not surprising it’s not known in traditional Russian cuisine. But I just learned the best word ever…

Tinkering with the path somewhat, almost no images were loading. Reverted to the default, which I don't like, but what can you do? Tinker more, of course.

Boom. It seemingly works. Now, I'd like to get the virtual path to a better one, but it'll work for now.

1st attempt failed. :-( Rolled back to local storage. Will attempt again shortly.

Syncing data. will have to restart this instance and test. Hopefully, the new storage will take over and all will be good. 🤞

Righto. Syncing media to wasabi. Will be nice to have the new storage.

Tomorrow, it’s supposed to get above freezing. I don’t know how I feel about this.

I love Winter. I love the cold weather.

‪As we were driving either to or from taking the kids ice skating, 5yo said, “Hey, it’s a tooth store!” as we drove by a dentist. They will now and forever be referred to the Tooth Store. ‬

Sorry about the downtime, y'all. Cronjob had a typo and the disk filled up. Kid's been in hospital, so I wasn't aware until now.

If you haven't gotten your flu shot, get it. You're not only protecting yourself, but others like my kid.

Happy Solstice, everyone! 🌟🌕

My hearing isn’t what it used to be and I do suffer from tinnitus, but I can still hear it. I checked the waveforms in various software—it’s not my hearing.

I hate what the loudness war has done to modern music recordings. I have found so many recordings in my library that truly sound like shit. 😖

I’d done so well! I’d made it so far!

Curse you, Dollarama!

This afternoon, J took the kids over to a friend’s house to play after school. I stayed home after our errands earlier (to take a nap). Tonight at dinner, 7yo tells me, “You would’ve had a blast, Daddy.”

Me: Who says I didn’t have a blast here by myself?

J: Yeah, 7yo, do you think he would’ve had a blast sitting around talking with mommies?

Me: What’s wrong with sitting around talking with mommies?

7yo: It’s all blah blah blah blah blah! (Mockingly as she tilts her head from side to side)

I used to love making mix tapes. So, the other day I decided to put one together using only the music currently residing my phone. One song per artist. No limit on genre. I created a playlist and then later, I put them together in this.

I’m not a DJ; that requires skill. I did try not to train-wreck.

It’s also been a while since I’ve played around with audio, so it’s a bit of a mess.

First doctor appt since leaving hospital coming up. Family doctor, first visit. Probably a physical and Rx refills. 2 weeks till meeting with the surgeon.

I don’t know how my kids have avoided Baby Shark. I’m thinking of changing that.

Below the thunders of the upper deep,
Far, far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides; above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous and secret cell
Unnumber'd and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the lumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge sea-worms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.
— "The Kraken" by Alfred Lord Tennyson, 1830
