Time to attempt repairing my fancy keyboard, which stopped working for mysterious-but-not-surprising reasons, considering it was literally taped together

I have successfully removed the microcontroller! ....Hopefully that's actually the problem or I'm gonna feel bad about the damage I did to this thing getting it out

Update: the microcontroller was not the problem. But I now know some things about I2C communications between the two keyboard halves that seems to be causing the issue

I swear I tested my keyboard cable before replacing the entire fucking microcontroller, but I'm testing it after doing that and the cable 100% doesn't work

(cables should have "0" resistance, not "1" resistance)

Below the thunders of the upper deep,
Far, far beneath in the abysmal sea,
His ancient, dreamless, uninvaded sleep
The Kraken sleepeth: faintest sunlights flee
About his shadowy sides; above him swell
Huge sponges of millennial growth and height;
And far away into the sickly light,
From many a wondrous and secret cell
Unnumber'd and enormous polypi
Winnow with giant arms the lumbering green.
There hath he lain for ages, and will lie
Battening upon huge sea-worms in his sleep,
Until the latter fire shall heat the deep;
Then once by man and angels to be seen,
In roaring he shall rise and on the surface die.
— "The Kraken" by Alfred Lord Tennyson, 1830
